FAQ’s

Q: Where do you deliver and do you charge for delivery?

A: Our meals are all handmade in our kitchen in the Byron Bay hinterland. You can choose to either pick up from our kitchen location in Clunes or there is a $6 delivery fee to the Byron Bay, Lismore and Ballina shires ONLY.

Please note that we deliver on Fridays ONLY. Our order cut off time is Monday at 10am. Any orders which are placed after the order cut-off time will be delivered the following Friday.

At this stage we’re only able to deliver locally. If you’re unsure if your area is covered, please email us at: feedme@kindredcookingco.com.au

Q: Are your meals gluten-free or vegan?

A: Many of our meals are. You can filter by dietary preference on the “Shop All Meals” page.

While we take great care with allergen handling, please note that all meals are prepared in a kitchen that uses gluten (wheat), dairy, eggs, soy, sesame, nuts, and seafood. We cannot guarantee the absence of trace allergens.

If you have any further questions regarding dietaries, please contact us at: feedme@kindredcookingco.com.au

Q: How do the meals arrive?

A: Most meals are delivered chilled or frozen, ready to heat and serve. Each dish is clearly labelled with storage and heating instructions — most go from fridge to table in under 60 minutes. Our focaccia and roti are delivered fresh.

Q: How do I heat the meals?

A: Heating instructions are listed on each product page and on the product packaging. Most meals come with simple oven, microwave or stovetop directions. Please note that we do recommend heating your meals in the oven if possible. We find this delivers the best result, particularly for dishes that need to brown or get nice and crispy.

Q: How long will they keep?

A: Chilled meals: up to 4–5 days in the fridge. Frozen meals: up to 3 months. Best-before dates are listed on all packaging.

Q: Do you use organic or local ingredients?

A: Wherever possible, yes. We use free-range meats, organic grains and fresh produce sourced from local farmers in the Byron Bay region and surrounds.

Q: Is there a minimum order?

A: There’s a $60 minimum order. Many of our meals are either snap frozen or freeze well for later, so you can stock up.

Q: Can I order for a gift?

A: Yes — just leave a note at checkout and we’ll pack it with care. You can also include a custom gift message or purchase a gift card {here}.

Q: What about allergens?

A: While we clearly list key allergens on each product page, please note our meals are prepared in a shared kitchen that handles: gluten (wheat), nuts, dairy, seafood, eggs, and soy. We take great care but cannot guarantee the absence of trace allergens.

Q: Is your packaging oven-safe and biodegradable?

A: We care about what goes into our food — and what it’s packed in.That’s why we use BioPak compostable packaging, made from renewable plant-based materials. No microplastics. No hidden chemicals. Just packaging designed to return to the earth, not stay in it.

They’re freezer-friendly and suitable for reheating in the oven or microwave.

Because they’re made from natural fibres, you may notice light grease marks or some softening once heated. Very occasionally, a few tiny plant fibres can lift when scraping out the meal — they’re plant-based and not harmful if accidentally ingested.

Once cooked, we recommend transferring any leftovers into a glass or ceramic container. It’s a conscious choice for us — lower impact, kinder to the planet, with a small natural trade-off.
